Just remember to take a calculator to help you with the math, since there are four currencies being used there: Real (BRA), Pesos (ARG), Guaranies (PAR) and Dollars (USA) and the conversion between them changes a lot from the store to store.
Walking around the streets you can see that its a multicultural region as people speak several languages aside from English, Portuguese and Spanish: there are immigrants from Lebanon, China, Japan, Germany and Italy settled in Foz do Iguaçu. Locals are friendly and they are always willing to talk to and help the tourists with information, directions and so on.
